Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School popularly known as YAGSHS is an all-girls public senior high school located in Tanoso in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

History
Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School (YAGSHS) was founded in 1961by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first Ghanaian President to reflect the country’s educational growth strategy. The school began with seventy students in 1960.
Yaa Asantewaa, the renowned historical groundbreaking heroine and Queenmother of Ejisu in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, who waged a war against the British Colonialist was honored with the school’s name.
Due to the ideals of the honorary founding member, the school has continued its fight for excellence and fighting against ignorance and the denigration of women
Uniform Meaning
Students of this prestigious institution wear white blouses over Blue skirt. The color of the school lines with the dress the students wear to class and they also put on Green dresses for preps. You will find most of the buildings in the school painted with the school colors.
