Manu musicians had their wins from the award slots, from Unsung Artiste, Male Vocal Performance, Female Vocal Performance, Songwriter Of The Year, Video OF The Year, Instrumentalist Of The Year, Music for Good, Producer Of The Year, Best African Artiste, Traditional Artiste of the Year (Non-voting Category), and to Life time achievement award.
The VGMA songwriter of the Year has always been given to the person of Kofi Kinaata on his four-time wins, but this year’s own goes to ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker, Fameye.
VGMA23 Songwriter of the Year Fameye received a standing ovation and a congratulatory tweet from Kofi Kinaata, a four-time winner of the Songwriter of the Year category.
Kofi Kinaata’s tweet has garnered over 5,000 likes and 700 retweets.
He tweeted, “Congrats to my brother @Fameye for winning the SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR. #VGMA23.”
