Who is Milly Alcock?
On April 11, 2000, Alcock was born, and she was raised in Sydney, New South Wales. After performing as “Little Red Riding Hood” in her elementary school’s “Taverners Hill” version of “Little Red Rocking Hood,” directed by Mr. Gauci, Alcock was introduced to acting. She first went to the nearby Stanmore Public School before transferring to the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, where she eventually left out in 2018 after receiving the Upright role.
Career
In 2014, when Milly was barely 14 years old, she made her acting debut on the Australian romantic television series Wonderland.
Alcock received the 2018 Casting Guild of Australia Rising Star Award for her performance as the runaway teen Meg in the Foxtel comedy-drama Upright, which premiered in 2019. Meg hitchhikes across 2,000 miles of the Australian desert in the role. Alcock, one of the youngest contenders in the category, was recognized for her performance with a nomination for Best Comedy Performer at the 10th AACTA Awards.
In July 2021, it was revealed that Alcock had been chosen to play the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (later portrayed by Emma D’Arcy) in the 2022 HBO fantasy series House of the Dragon, a Game of Thrones prequel and adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s fictional history novel Fire and Blood. Alcock was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series because of her performance in the part.
