Welcome to our blog and for today’s article, we are looking at an issue that is related to women and has a profound effect on their mood and taste.
As some women cringe at the voice of pregnancy, others also hope to get pregnant within the shortest possible time after they have engaged in sexual intercourse with their partners.

What are the signs of pregnancy?
Pregnancy symptoms differ from one woman to the next. The disappearance of menstruation is usually the most noticeable indicator (amenorrhea). Some women, however, continue to bleed even while pregnant. The preceding are the most typical pregnancy warning signals. Nonetheless, each woman may experience pregnancy symptoms in a unique way. These may include the following:
- Extreme tiredness
- Sore and swollen breasts
- Nausea or vomiting (also called morning sickness)
- Frequent urination
- Certain food cravings or aversions
- Bloating of the belly
- Darkening of the skin around the nipples (also called the areola).
When you can do a pregnancy test
Most pregnancy tests can be done as early as the first day of a missed period. If you are unsure when your next period will arrive, take the test at least 21 days after your last unprotected intercourse.
Even if you haven’t missed a period, you can use some of the more sensitive pregnancy tests.
A pregnancy test can be performed on a sample of urine collected at any time of day. It isn’t necessary to meet in the morning. A pregnancy test can be done on either urine or blood
Where you can get a pregnancy test
You can buy pregnancy testing kits from pharmacists and some supermarkets. They can give a quick result and you can do the test in private.
How does a pregnancy test work?
Human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG), which begins to be created around 6 days after fertilisation, is detected in all pregnancy tests.
The majority of pregnancy tests come in a box with one or two lengthy sticks. You pee on the stick, and after a few minutes, the result shows on the stick. Because each test is slightly different, always double-check the directions.
Instructions:
- Remove the plastic cap to expose the absorbent window.
- Point the absorbent tip (with 5 small openings) directly into the urine stream. Take the sample for at least 7-10 seconds, to ensure that an adequate sample is collected by the testing device. (Another technique is to collect the urine into a clean container and dip half of the absorbent pad for at least 10 seconds.)
- Re-cap the device and place it horizontally on a clean, flat surface. Wait 5 minutes for the test to finish processing.
RESULT INTERPRETATION
Negative Result: NOT PREGNANT
Only one color band appears on the top Control (C) region. There should be no apparent band on the Test (T) region. The control line is designed to validate the test and should be crisp and clear in intensity against the white background.
Positive Result: POSSIBLE PREGNANCY
Distinct and consistent color bands appear on the Control (C) and Test (T) regions. Color intensity of the bands may vary according to concentration and level of hCG development. The test line is usually slightly weaker in intensity in comparison to the control line. The pattern of increasing intensity of the test line is a much better predictor of pregnancy rather than any individual reading.
Invalid Results
If there is no visible control line, discard the test. Repeat test with a new device.
STORAGE
Pregnancy tests should be kept at room temperature between 36°F and 86°F. After the expiration date, which is printed on each sealed pregnancy test, discard any unused pregnancy tests. Excessive exposure to direct sunshine, wetness, heat, and other similar situations should be avoided.
Please Note: Some medicines can also affect the results.
