Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935, to Vernon Presley and Gladys Love Presley in a two-room shotgun house that his father had built especially for the occasion in Tupelo, Mississippi. Before Elvis, his identical twin brother Jesse Garon Presley, was born stillborn 35 minutes earlier.
