Frances Marie “Frankie” Martin, 90, of Kankakee, Illinois, died on May 14, 2008, at Miller Health Care Center. She was born in Gridley, Illinois, on March 13, 1912, to Christian and Anna (nee Grusy) Stoller.
On August 17, 1940, in Peoria, Illinois, she married John C. Martin. She worked as a PIP in the ER at Riverside Medical Center for 19 years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, as well as a life member of the Girl Scouts of America and the American Red Cross chapter in her community.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Dennis) Schley of Shorewood, IL, and Sheila (Robert) Smith of Chicago.
McGregor of West Hartford, CT; her sisters, Elsie Hohulin of Eureka, IL, Ida Schwenk of Peoria, IL, Verne Puochel of Peoria, IL, and Elolse Dlggleman of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents and brothers-in-law, Ray Puechel, Herb Schwenk, Ed Hohulin, and Ernle, predeceased her.
